SENSIS + GOOGLE ADWORDS = MAKES SENSE
After (very) recently meeting with Sensis reps to explain why it really didn’t make sense to use Sensis BidSmart for our clients, I am very pleased to see that Sensis will start showing Google AdWords from Q1 2009.
Sensis’ lack of an API to pull reports and manage campaigns meant that a whole lot of manual work had to be done for just a tiny fraction of the budget/clicks, and this just didn’t make a whole lot of sense.
With Google’s proven and effective AdWords technology to monetise their search traffic, everyone wins. All the major advertisers who have avoided Sensis for years will suddenly be able to gain access to their search audience without having to custom build a solution just for this traffic. And now that Google is able to break down results by Google search vs Search Partners, we will have some visibility as to how this traffic is performing. I think it won’t be long before we can run reports, like a placement report, that will breakdown traffic by Search Partner and allow domain blocking ala Yahoo Panama for even more control.
